9 Fun Fall Events in West Georgia
October tends to bring cooler weather and lots of choices for family fun to West Georgia and East Alabama. We’ve collected a few ideas for the weeks ahead. Check out these local events. Concerts at the AMP, Various dates, Downtown Carrollton
Check out the schedule of events and concerts that will be held through the rest of 2018 at the AMP in downtown Carrollton here. October concerts include Apostles of Bluegrass (Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.), Harvest for the Homeless and Hungry (Oct. 21, 5:00–7:00 p.m.), and Oak Grove Baptist’s Hallelujah Harvest (Oct. 21, 5:00–7:00 p.m.).
Oktoberfest, October 27, Downtown Carrollton
The festivities kick-off at 11 a.m. with trick-or-treating, spooktacular games and a costume contest at 1:00 p.m. Then, enjoy an afternoon (3:00 to 9:00 p.m.) filled with live music and craft beer tasting that will last into the night. Bremen Towne Festival, October 20, Downtown Bremen, GA
The 25th Annual Bremen Towne Festival, hosted by the GFWC Georgia Bremen Junior Woman’s Club, will be held on from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Bremen. There will be arts and crafts, numerous activities and rides for children, train rides, a variety of food exhibitors and great entertainment all day. The parade will begin at 11 a.m., and lineup will start between 9:30 and 10:30 on Lakeview Drive in front of Jones Elementary School. There will be a float contest, so start planning your awesome float for competition! You don’t want to miss this fun-filled festival! Cabin Life at Pickett’s Mill, October 13, Pickett’s Mill Battlefield Historic Site, Dallas Discover what daily life was like on a small farm during the Civil War. This living history event at an original 164-year-old log cabin includes cooking over a fire, tilling the garden, and historical toys and period games for kids. Rocky Branch Old West Ghost Town Haunted Attraction, Bremen, GA

Hunters Harvest Fall Festival and Arts & Craft show, October 27, Douglasville, GA
The 4th annual Hunters Harvest Fall Festival and Arts & Craft show at Hunter Park will be held on October 27, 2018 from noon–4 p.m. This event will feature vendors from all over West Georgia and Metro Atlanta with varying arts & crafts and food and beverage items. Over 40 vendors are expected to attend. The festival will also include a children’s play zone featuring inflatables and other amenities for $5. Children 3 and under are free inside the play zone. 2018 Georgia Gravity Games, November 3, Downtown Douglasville
The Georgia Gravity Games is a gravity-only car race competition sponsored by Google, Georgia Tech and the City of Douglasville. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is an educational, hands-on activity designed to get young people excited about STEM subjects. Along with the race, Gravity Games includes a science festival on Science Street with STEM-based games and activities from nearly a dozen exhibitors for competitors and spectators to enjoy throughout the day.
