Talking Turkey (& the Fixings) with Duffey Realty’s Dale Johnson

Dale Johnson

Duffey Realty Managing Broker Dale Johnson loves Thanksgiving traditions, especially when they allow him some time to get outdoors. Thanksgiving is also about family, something else Dale knows, since he is not only part of the Duffey Realty family but also a son-in-law of Duffey Realty founders James and Irene Duffey and father of Duffey’s newest agent, Whitney Davis. Dale recently took a few minutes to share some of his favorite things about Thanksgiving with Duffey Realty Blog Editor Carrie McWhorter. Let’s see what he had to say.

CM: Dale, what is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
DJ: Getting together as a family has to be at the top of my list. Cooking and turkey and then eating the meal together is always a highlight of the year. Once dinner is finished, I enjoy football games and deer hunting.

CM: When dinner is on the table, which do you choose: Dressing or Stuffing?
DJ: Dressing with gravy is one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving dinner.

CM: At the dessert table, which are you most likely to sample first: Sweet Potato Pie or Pumpkin Pie?
DJ: I don’t choose. I just get a slice of both – always!

CM: If you could have one person living or dead join you for Thanksgiving, who would you choose and why?
DJ: My Grandmaw Johnson. She loved to cook and feed people, and the whole family always came together at Thanksgiving. Her presence is a memory I will always cherish.

CM: Finish this statement: Thanksgiving just isn’t the same without _____.
DJ: My grandparents. They not only showed us how to be thankful, they reminded us what we should be thankful for.
