Talking Turkey (& the Fixings) with Duffey Realty’s Sandra O’Neal
Though she lives in Bremen now, Sandra O’Neal’s Atlanta raising influenced her in many ways, including in her enjoyment of the holidays. What we love about Sandra as a REALTOR is her positive attitude and attention to detail, both of which she credits to her upbringing. She brings those same qualities to her family Thanksgiving and is passing on these traditions to the next generation. Sandra recently shared some of her favorite holiday memories and traditions with Duffey Realty Blog Editor Carrie McWhorter.
CM: Sandra, what is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
SO: I am originally from Atlanta, so going to the Rich’s Tree Lighting with my dad is a big memory for me. I also remember having breakfast while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. My parents did this with me as a young girl, and over the years, I would do the same with my children. I also try to spend a few minutes each year calling relatives and friends who I might not get to see. Even talking to them for a brief moment makes the holiday even more special.
CM: When dinner is on the table, which do you choose: Dressing or Stuffing?
CM: At the dessert table, which are you most likely to sample first: Sweet Potato Pie or Pumpkin Pie?
SO: Well, my parents would have them both, but I choose pecan pie first every time.
CM: If you could have one person living or dead join you for Thanksgiving, who would you choose and why?
SO: Both my parents. My best memories are of times when all of our family would get together on Thanksgiving. You could feel the love.
CM: Finish this statement: Thanksgiving just isn’t the same without _____.
SO: Without my Mom and Dad. That’s why it is so important to me that I spend the day with my children and grandchildren. I want them to have happy memories as I do.
