Talking Turkey (& the Fixings) with Duffey Realty’s Melanie Mitchell
As a daughter, wife, and mother, Melanie Mitchell knows that Thanksgiving traditions will create memories that last a lifetime. Thanksgiving is a time when community takes center stage as well. Melanie is active in her church and in local service activities through the West Metro Board of REALTORS®–both commitments that help instill an attitude of gratitude in her two children. Melanie recently took a few minutes to share some of her favorite Thanksgiving traditions and memories with Duffey Realty Blog Editor Carrie McWhorter.
CM: Melanie, what is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
MM: Going to our Taylor family reunion, and seeing all our family. There are usually 50 or so people there, so we have a lot of catching up to do.
CM: When dinner is on the table, which do you choose: Dressing or Stuffing?
MM: Definitely dressing. Stuffing is for those folks who live a little north of Carrollton.
CM: At the dessert table, which are you most likely to sample first: Sweet Potato Pie or Pumpkin Pie?
MM: Neither. Pecan Pie is my first choice!
CM: If you could have one person living or dead join you for Thanksgiving, who would you choose and why?
MM: That person would be Ken, my stepdad. I would love for my children and husband to have known him.
WD: Finish this statement: Thanksgiving just isn’t the same without _____.
